Posted on June 29, 2021June 29, 2021 by Kelsey McMahon

Massive, 160ft. tall portraits of youth leaders from RISE for Youth are going up on the side of City Hall! Through the magic of augmented reality, you’ll be able to use your phone to access animation and audio created by youth leaders across the country that illustrates a world without youth prisons.

JOIN US THURSDAY, JULY 1 AT NOON FOR AN UNVEILING RALLY!
Meet in the social services plaza on the corner of 9th Street and Marshall Street.
—> Richmond’s first Poet Laureate Roscoe Burnems will kick things off
—> RISE for Youth youth leaders will speak about their vision of a world without youth prisons
—> Dr. Ram Bhagat will speak on the growing restorative justice work in the community
—> Lerone Joseph will speak about the Mayor’s Youth Academy
—> You’ll hear more about the project from Performing Statistics and see a demo

The portraits will be up through November 30, 2021.
View the augmented reality animation on the northwest corner of 9th Street and Marshall Street, right in front of the John Marshall House.
